I think one of my favorite scenes is in the film "Immortal Beloved" when young Beethoven is fleeing his abusive father and runs & runs & then ends up in a pond, floating on his back. The stars are reflecting on the water and then he starts slowly, slowly spinning, as though spinning in the sea of space itself. *sigh* So pretty. So powerful.

For me the most amazing scene in all of filmdom is the final 5 minutes of Frank Capra's "It's a Wonderful Life". Jimmy Stewart as George Baily is running home and yelling out "Merry Christmas" to anyone who'll listen, he even wishes it to the Emporium and to Mr. Potter. He gets home and all the townspeople except Mr. Potter and his minions come to offer money to make up the loss. We all know where the money is and yet we rejoice as each person comes forward and more money than he needs is laid before him as a gesture of friendship and caring from all the people who's lives he has touched. Clarence even leaves his copy of Tom Sawyer with a note and then the bell rings to signal his wings. I cry every time I see it, I am no longer ashamed to admit! It also has become one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. I wonder if anyone else picks this scene. I can't think of many that are better, but I must admit your Beethoven scene is right up there too, Omega. Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it!

Right now my place in space is a difficult one. I am home with my parents after a medical scare last year that I am now recovered from but I have to build up resources in order to move out. The one I love is a long way away and I want to be with him so very much. The engine of my ship is two-fold. The first side is my faith and the second is love. I know I can do and accomplish anything as long as I have my faith and the love of friends, family and the one true love that makes living every day worth it.
